Features Overview
Release Pilot provides a set of features to plan, track, and communicate software releases across products and customer sites. Release topics and milestones are central: topics are the main unit of release work, and milestones are the checkpoints and targets you track against.
Core featuresβ
π Release topicsβ
Release topics are the main unit of work for planning a release. Each topic has a title, description, reference ID, assignee, status, and key dates, plus tabs for Release Commitment, Details, and Milestones. Use topics to plan work, notify stakeholders by email, and export data in the Release Planner format.

π― Milestonesβ
Milestones are checkpoints or targets in a release (e.g. M1, or a customer-site target). They appear on the Milestones tab of a release topic and in the Release Planner export as a milestone identifier, so you can track whatβs due when and align plans with specific environments or waves.

π¦ Releasesβ
Create and manage releases with versions, dates, and status. Use list or grid view, filter by name/product/status/version, and commit or publish releases.
π€ Release planning & exportβ
Plan work in release topics and coordinate multi-service releases. Export in the Release Planner standard format from customer sites or release-topic flows.
